Boise Family Photographer | Vialpando Family

Okay. When I say every single image from this shoot is blog worthy and so good that I can't choose just a handful for an Instagram post, I MEAN IT! The light, the location, the family - Literally every part of this shoot left me having to pick my jaw up off the floor.

My family and I were planning a camping trip for McCall and I had a wild idea to throw in some shoots while we were at it. I honestly didn't think anyone would want to, but I was thrilled when Caitlin and her family jumped on the chance! I've done branding images for Caitlin at her massage clinic A New You Massage here in Boise multiple times over the years, but this was the first time getting to photograph her whole family, that of which is the freaking CUTEST.

Sometimes working with little ones can be difficult. You never know if you're going to catch them on a good day or a "I'm just gonna stand here and glare at you while I throw the occasional rock in your direction hoping it hits you" kind of day. Thankfully the second Little Miss hopped out of the car she was all smiles and soon after her brother joined us, introduced himself, and told me all about school and everything he loves, so I knew this was gonna be good!

McCall had a couple of random cloud bursts from a storm passing by that day, but we managed to hit the perfect window where it was all sun and fun. We went for a short hike through the gorgeous forest (that is seriously what dreams are made) so Little Miss could collect every stick possible to make an Olaf out of come winter, and then we went down to the water where the day's storm left us with the most incredible sunset.

One of my favorite parts about each family session is taking a step back and letting everyone play together just like they would at home. Tickle fights, splashing in the water, digging in the sand, finding rocks and sticks, keeping an eye out for wild animals running by... photographing kids in their element and the wonder and amazement that goes along with it is so gratifying and a constant reminder to myself to slow down and notice the world around me.

Just as we were finishing up with some truly incredible shots another round of the storm started to pick up and lightning began to strike on the opposite side of the lake. The timing was perfect, and it felt like the weather held out just long enough to allow us to make some magic!

After a long and fulfilling day full of smiles and giggles we packed up and headed back to Boise where I immediately dug in to editing because I knew these were going to be good. So good that I actually put them in a blog because I knew everyone else needed to enjoy them too!

If ever you find yourself thinking "Man. I love this area. It's so beautiful and holds so much meaning for me and my family. I'd love to take pictures here one day." CALL ME. I love adventure and exploring, but more than anything the opportunity to capture you and your family is reason enough for me to follow you anywhere!
